Referral List Placement & Requirements

Placement on the referral list is determined by our contracted employers. A full list of contracts is available on our website. Additional vetting by Local members and a probationary period may be required.

Contact Information

All referents must maintain a current email and physical address on file. A post office box is not acceptable.

Residency Requirements To qualify, referents must reside within 100 miles of Minneapolis-St. Paul (Minnesota Referral) or within the state of Iowa (Iowa Referral). Proof of residency is required.

Fees & Payments

• A yearly Referral Fee of $72 is required, renewing each January.

• A maintenance fee of 2% of gross contract earnings applies to all individuals working for employers. This fee must be paid to Local 745 via employer deduction or quarterly billing.

• Payments are due within 30 days of the invoice date. Invoices overdue by more than 30 days will incur a $25 late fee, with a 14-day payment notice sent via email.

• Failure to pay outstanding fees within 45 days from the initial billing date will result in removal from the Minnesota/Iowa Referral List. Reinstatement requires payment of all past-due amounts plus a $100 reinstatement fee.

 

Work Limitations & Union Membership

Referents may work for a single employer for a maximum of 30 days within a rolling two-year period. If this limit is exceeded, application for Union membership is required, including a $350 application fee ($100 International, $250 Local). Failure to apply for membership at that time will result in loss of work eligibility.
